It is that time once again!  Today is Farley Mowat Public Schools 3 annual Mayfair!!

Come on out to the school grounds at 75 Waterbridge Drive in Barrhaven from 10am-2pm today and join in the fun!  There will be games for the kids, a talent show and a bbq and bake sale!  All proceeds will go towards increasing the school’s literacy resources.  It is a great way to take part in the community and improve the educational materials for current and future Farley Mowat students. Win Win!

While there, be sure to purchase a raffle ticket for your chance to win your very own portrait session with Jennifer Bailey Photography and a framed 10×13 print!  The weather is gorgeous, so get going!!

I know I’ve said it before, but I really, truly believe that every family should have their portraits taken together.  Whether it is a photo captured by a friend or family member or a custom photography session with a professional photographer, it really is a gift you give yourself and your family - for generations.  Life moves so quickly and things change in an instant so I urge everyone to stop and capture the moment while it is here.

This is a family I love.  Not just clients, but friends ever since I captured their daughter as a newborn.  I have had the privilege of capturing their moments many times since then and I hope to do so for years to come.

Remember this little guy?

Can you believe he is just about to turn 1?  Time flies!

I had a wonderful morning at the Arboretum, reconnecting with Little Man K and his parents M & S.  It was a gorgeous day to play in the leaves and we got some great images to prove it!  I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching my newborns grow from tiny little babies into little people.  I get such a kick out of it.

Thanks again M & S.  I will be in touch with your full gallery soon!

I have had the pleasure of photographing Little Miss K, 3 times in the last year.  I can’t believe that she is coming up to her first birthday already!  Where does the time go?  I love being able to document this time in a baby’s life, because they really do grow so fast and before you know it, toddlerhood is upon them.  The first year is full of so many “firsts” – first smiles, first time sitting up, first food, first time standing up, crawling and even walking!  And the fact that I get to experience all these milestones alongside mom and dad is amazing.

This all hit close to home for our family recently.  My children and I were in a serious car accident, that made me realize how precious life truly is.  I don’t want to let a moment go by that I don’t document – whether it is silly moments together or a special event.  Needless to say, we will be having our family portrait taken this summer and it will be updated on a regular basis.  I have wonderful pictures of all my children, but they need to have ones of their mother too!

Now, onto Miss Sunshine!  Isn’t she the cutest with her big eyes!  Watch for a big brother post, in the coming days!

If you missed the Wee Welcome.ca Express Yourself Event this past weekend, you really missed out!  It was a blast!  The kids had so much fun decorating cupcakes, painting chicks, making picture frames, playing in the Gymboree play area and having their picture taken!

I would personally like to thank everyone who came out to the National Art Gallery and bought tickets.  A portion from each ticket is going to the Make a Wish Foundation.  It is a very worthy charity and I was glad to take part in some small way.

And for those of you who sat for me: Keep a look out for your pictures!  They should be arriving in your inbox in the next day or two.  For now, see if you can spot yourself!

I am so excited to announce that Jennifer Bailey Photography will be at the WeeWelcome.ca “Express Yourself” event on Saturday March 14th, 2009!  The event is being held at the National Art Gallery and runs from 10am – noon, so be sure to come and check out all the activities for yourself!

It is going to be so much fun! It will be a great opportunity for the kids to unleash some of their creative talent and have their photo taken as a memory of their artistic and fun-filled day!  Please visit the Wee Welcome website for more information about this event and the many others they hold throughout the year.  Hope to see you all there!
