I have had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family, every fall, for years!  And every fall, Miss F. is a little bigger, a little more confident and a little more independent.  But this year, there was a whole other aspect to define her – big sister!

How wonderful is it to have a built in playmate that lives with you?  Mr. L clearly wants to move and groove and try to keep up her, but I think mom (luckily) might have a few more months before he is exloring on his own and tagging along with his big sister.

This session was full of a lot of love and a lot of giggles.  It makes me so happy to be part of their lives every fall.  Thank you L&J!

This is what photographer’s love to shoot in.  That last little bit of golden sunlight at the end of the day.  It is warm and glowy – is that a word? and just all round perfection.

This is what the lovely W family got for their family session at the Arboretum.  It was gorgeous.  Together we walked through the paths, talked about Ninjago and Katy Perry, explored and examined leaves and weeds, all while stopping along the way for some amazing family shots.  As the kids got a little more comfortable with me, their little personalities emerged and we giggled and held hands.  I loved every minute.

Thank you W family for a lovely friday evening!

I love seeing my past families grow up!  It always seems just like yesterday, until you see the kids.  A little taller and a little less ‘baby’.  Why does time move so quickly??

The B family came to see me on an absolutely gorgeous evening and this time brought along their grandparents!  I love that!  While of course, portraits of parents and their children are important, I sometimes think the ones of grandparents and their grandkids, just have that little bit more sparkle to them.  They are treasures.  Ones which are worth their weight in gold.

Coming soon!

I have many clients that I think fondly of from time to time.  Often I come across a post of theirs on facebook, or I catch a glimpes of an image from a past session, or even a name will jog my memory.  Whatever the case, a few weeks ago I was thinking of the A family and their adorable son, M.  I first met them a few years back when they were expecting their first and have had the chance to photograph them a few times since then.  And then low and behold, a few hours later, I got a message from Mom, letting me know they were expecting another baby this fall!  I was thrilled to hear their news and equally thrilled that I was going to have the chance to photograph their growing family a few more times over the coming weeks.

I met R&M&M at Mowat Farm park for a gorgeous maternity session.  A perfect opportunity to document their final weeks as a family of three.  In a short time, there will be another baby to care for and their love will be multiplied.  I can’t wait!

Sometimes you just know it was meant to be.

After seeing a family session I photographed of a mutual friend, this amazing Mom of three, contacted me to see if I was planning any more sessions in Toronto this fall….and as luck would have it, I was on my way that very afternoon!  It could not have worked out better.  I truly believe that there are times in our lives when things align just so, for whatever reason.   In this case, the timing for a family photo session.   But after getting to know M and hearing the story of how she met J, it sounds like the universe aligns time and place for them often.   What a fortunate and blessed life they lead!  Capped off by three incredible and delightful children.

This little set amuses me so much!  I didn’t catch Mr. D’s little antics until I pulled the images onto the computer!  Can you tell that this was our last set up and he was done?!?!

On a gorgeous Saturday morning, I met up with M&D at High Park in Toronto to capture their growing belly bump. I hadn’t been to High Park in years and years.  My jaw must have been dragging along the ground for the entire session – I was so in awe of the beauty of this park in the middle of the city.  I don’t think we could have picked a better place to capture this special time in their lives.

D and I worked together years ago, but I had never met M before.  I knew if D married her, she must be pretty special.  And sure enough, I wasn’t disappointed.  When you see the two of them together, you can feel their connection.  I know they are going to make incredible parents and I can’t wait to meet their little bundle in the winter.  On top of all the “catch up”  and “getting to know you” talk, I had no idea  until the very end of our session, that we were also celebrating Mom to be M’s birthday! I think that makes this maternity session even more special and an awesome story to share with your family when looking back at your belly pictures in the future.

It started to rain the moment I drove away from my house and I thought, “oh, not again, please.”

But within minutes of arriving at the Chapman Mills Conservation Area, the sky opened up and the sun shone brightly.  It was like the world knew we were there to celebrate a new baby coming into the world in just a few weeks.  It was perfect.

And can I just say how gorgeous mom to be is!  She completely rocks her belly bump!

I am so lucky that as a photographer, I often get the chace to travel back to the city I grew up in- Toronto – to work.  And many times my work brings me back to photograph some of my childhood friends, which is always a great thrill for me.

You many remember Mom E’s maternity session back in March.  Well, after surviving a house full of boys for a number of years, their family finally welcomed a little girl in the spring, who I finally go to meet!   Now all that rough and tumble boys play can have a little bit of frills and twirls and grace interjected!
