If you are in Toronto this weekend and you are looking for something to do, look no further than the Spring 2011 One of a Kind Show!

Starting today and running through to April 3, the show features over 450 Artisans showing off and selling their creations – including a favourite of mine, the stylish and modern girls clothing line:

Jennifer Bailey Photography Tiny Modernist

Check out, Cheryl’s (the creative genius behind the line) spring/summer collection in her 2011 Lookbook, which I had the pleasure of photographing a few months back.

If you are unable to make the show, by sure to stop by the Tiny Modernist’s online store

I am so pleased that I had the opportunity to capture newborn baby F  for his mommy and daddy.   He was such a handsome little thing to work with and we managed to get many different poses and expressions from him.   So be prepared for a bit of a heavy image post!  I just couldn’t narrow it down!

Thank you S for all your kind words and for inviting me into your home at such a special time.  F is incredibly lucky to have you as parents.

In the next in my series of Product Spotlights I decided to showcase Birth Announcements!

Partly because, as many of you know, we just added our fourth to our brood and I wanted to show off her announcement, and partly because well, newborns are a HUGE part of my photography business and new moms go wild for these!

Birth Announcements are press printed and come in either a 5×5 or 5×7 postcard or folded format and are fully customizable in terms of pictures, design, colours and wording.  I am happy to work with you to create an announcement that is unique as your new little baby and that you are proud to show off to all your friends!

Press printed cards can also be customized as birthday invitations, thank you cards, Christmas or holiday cards.  The possibilities are endless!

Meet handsome Baby N!

N’s mamma has to one of the most organized new mom’s I have ever met.  She was my first newborn booking for 2011, probably 5 months ago!!  If that is any indication, she is going to have no problem falling into her new role as a mom of 2!

Being an Ottawa newborn photographer is sometimes tricky.  You just never know when a baby will actually make his or her arrival.  This can make scheduling sessions a little troublesome at times.  But Baby O was one of the rare few who made his big debut right on time – all 9 pounds 6 ounces of him!  And his cheeks!  Aren’t they to die for?? So pinchable!

Congratulations M&R! and thanks again for having me over.  He is adorable!

I thought it might be a good idea to start a little feature here at Jennifer Bailey Photograpy called “Product Spotlight”.  Over the next few weeks I am going to take the time to put one of my products front and center for all of you to see!  I’m hoping that seeing these products up close will help my clients – and future clients – with their print selections and find the whole process that much easier!

First up – Gallery Wrapped Canvases!

Gallery wrapped canvases are my ABSOLUTE favourite way to display images in my home that I love, ones that make me truly happy and bring a smile to my face.  Why confine a portrait like that to a desktop image?  Go BIG, I say!  Yes, the upfront investment is more than your traditional print, but the wow factor a canvas brings to your walls, is worth it – I promise.

Gallery wraps are printed on high quality canvas, and then stretched over a 2 inch wooden frame.  Each piece is sprayed with a protective coating and comes with a fully finished back, ready to hand on your wall the moment it is in your hands.  No waiting on a framer!

Canvases are als0 fantastic for filling up space on a large wall when hung in a grouping!  They are also great in sun filled rooms – no glare like a portrait under glass would display!

Pregnancy is such a fleeting moment in a women’s life.  While at the time 9 months seems to last forever, when you have the chance to look back, time really does fly by.  I am so honoured that I get to document this special time for families in the Ottawa region.  It makes it even more special when I am watching a family grow right before my eyes!

This is the second pregnancy I have documented for the L family and it will be the second newborn later this spring!  I met them as 2 and soon they will be 4!  How amazing is that?

This is one of my absolute favourites from our session (although there were many 🙂 )
