In more ways than one!

I started off my weekend with this beautiful Mama to Be, who was just glowing!  She contacted me to do both a maternity and a newborn session as a surprise to her husband!  How exciting is that?  In an effort not to give away too much (just incase he stubbles upon my blog) I am just going to post a tiny sneak peek!  Enjoy Mama!  See you later in the summer!

I cannot even express how much I love my job!

As a maternity/newborn photographer, I am blessed to meet couples who are just genuinely happy.  They are either excitedly waiting for the arrival of a new baby, or celebrating the precious newborn that they brought into the world.  In either case, I am so lucky to witness their happiness and to be part of it, if only for a short while.

K&K were no expection and had much to celebrate.  A new home and a new baby to bring home to live there.  Happiness.

I had the pleasure of meeting Miss A and her family at their home today and man did she give us a workout!!  Apparently A isn’t a big daytime sleeper, so we had to pull out all the stops.  But don’t worry mom, we got some images I’m sure you will love.

Gosh, I love belly buttons!

Alright, I think I may have tortured mom the other day.  So sorry!  I hope this makes up for it! On to your sneak peek – officially!

We had a beautiful sunny day walking around the Byward Market and captured some gorgeous fall urban images.  Seriously, these kids were awesome – and mom and dad weren’t too shabby either!  Thanks J and family!

Mr.C and his little impish grin – love it!

Not to be outdone – Miss S!

I loved this little series. Just mom and daughter.

I know mom has been waiting very patiently for these, so without further ado, check out this wonderful family session!

Just a shot of the girls -they are outnumbered you know!

And a few individuals of the kids!

I am happy to be supporting Farley Mowat Public School’s 2nd Annual Mayfair taking place this Saturday May 30th at 10am – 2pm.  Come on out to 75 Waterbridge Drive in Barrhaven and help the school in it’s initiative to raise money for literacy resources all while having fun!!  It promises to be a fun filled day for the whole family, complete with a bbq, talent show, bake sale, book fair and a raffle!

Be sure to buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win a portrait session with Jennifer Bailey Photography and a framed 10×13 print!  This prize package has a value of over $250!  What a great way to support literacy in our community.  Hope to see you there!

Are you expecting twins this April?  Know someone who is?  This might just be the deal for you!

I’m looking for a set of newborn twins – under 2 weeks old at the time of the session – to photograph for my portfolio.  This call is for participants who are willing to allow me to explore my creative vision and test out some ideas swirling around my head!

This gift to you will include:

  • a complimentary newborn session (a $150 value)
  • a print incentive
  • one free 8×10

A signed model release is require to take advantage of this special offer.  If you (or someone you know) are interested, please contact me as soon as possible!

And what’s a post without a picture?

My Little Man

December 6, 2008

Just one from our session for our Christmas Cards.  Although I didn’t use this one, I just loved how he put his hand in his pocket to “pose” for Mommy!

A few weeks ago, we went away on vacation. Once we returned, I went about my everyday tasks, which include watering and deadheading my hanging baskets. When I pulled them down from the hook the very first time, I was delighted at what I saw – a Robin’s nest!! Since then, the kids and I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the babies.

Well the other day the little newborns made their arrival!

Look how cute they are! No feathers yet, but that fuzz is just adorable. Unfortunately, one egg didn’t make it. Such is life, I guess. Poor Mama.
We are very excited to watch these little birds take to the sky in the the next week or so. Hopefully we’ll be there (camera in hand!) to catch the action!

Urbanesque Workshop

June 28, 2008

This weekend I’m so excited to be attending Susan Robichaud’s Urbanesque Workshop (http://www.susanrobichaud.com/) here in Ottawa. While I’m not shooting until tomorrow, I got a sneak peak of what’s in store for me tomorrow as my kids were models for today’s attendees! They were fantastic and hung in for much longer than I expected! Bribery really does go a long way :) .

Here is Ottawa’s Stephanie Cantin (http://www.stephaniecantin.ca/) shooting my daughter. I can’t wait to see everyone’s pictures!
