I started off my weekend with this beautiful Mama to Be, who was just glowing!  She contacted me to do both a maternity and a newborn session as a surprise to her husband!  How exciting is that?  In an effort not to give away too much (just incase he stubbles upon my blog) I am just going to post a tiny sneak peek!  Enjoy Mama!  See you later in the summer!

I cannot even express how much I love my job! 

As a maternity/newborn photographer, I am blessed to meet couples who are just genuinely happy.  They are either excitedly waiting for the arrival of a new baby, or celebrating the precious newborn that they brought into the world.  In either case, I am so lucky to witness their happiness and to be part of it, if only for a short while.

K&K were no expection and had much to celebrate.  A new home and a new baby to bring home to live there.  Happiness.

It is that time once again!  Today is Farley Mowat Public Schools 3 annual Mayfair!!

Come on out to the school grounds at 75 Waterbridge Drive in Barrhaven from 10am-2pm today and join in the fun!  There will be games for the kids, a talent show and a bbq and bake sale!  All proceeds will go towards increasing the school’s literacy resources.  It is a great way to take part in the community and improve the educational materials for current and future Farley Mowat students. Win Win!

I know I’ve said it before, but I really, truly believe that every family should have their portraits taken together.  Whether it is a photo captured by a friend or family member or a custom photography session with a professional photographer, it really is a gift you give yourself and your family - for generations.  Life moves so quickly and things change in an instant so I urge everyone to stop and capture the moment while it is here.

This is a family I love.  Not just clients, but friends ever since I captured their daughter as a newborn.  I have had the privilege of capturing their moments many times since then and I hope to do so for years to come.

This past weekend was a long weekend here in Canada and what a way to kick it off with the handsome and adorable Mr. E!!

I spent another wonderful evening with J&D.  I didn’t know how we could possibly top their maternity session that I was so in love with.  Well, ok, that is an exaggeration…I knew their newborn would be a million times better and he didn’t disappoint!  Mom & Dad have been very patient waiting for these, all long weekend in fact, so without further ado….

Mom had this old box, which I knew right away we would HAVE to use!!

Thanks again J&D for having me into your home and allowing me to capture your little man. He is beyond precious and I enjoyed every minute. (and my first taste of caribou!)

A few nights ago I spent the evening with J&D capturing their final weeks ALONE together before baby make his debut.  (They are 99% sure it is a baby boy).  Things are surely going to change – but only for the better!  This baby is so incredibly lucky to have these two as his parents.  They are fun, happy and just genuinely nice people!  I couldn’t think of a nicer way to spend a spring evening.

We started off at J&D’s home, where we captured these stunning images of J.  Pregnancy certainly agrees with her!

We then moved to Rideau Hall, which is a very special place for J&D.

As the grounds closed for the evening, we had a little fun on the other side of the fence!

Thank you again for the lemonade and the wonderful evening.  Wishing you nothing but happiness as your family grows!

Waking up to snow on the ground and still coming coming down, is NOT the way to start the day at the end of April.

Thankfully, I got to meet with this happy girl this morning!  Her smile was all the sunshine we needed.  Just look at her!

I am going to be photographing this lovely family again later this summer – so stay tuned.  Next time Little S’s big sister will be joining us for a full family session!!  I can’t wait!
