I don’t think I could have left this weekend’s maternity session any happier even if I tried!

I met K&A and their very fashionable little L at Stony Swamp.  I was a little worried that they might think I was the crazy photographer, when I suggested an outdoor session in the snow, but K didn’t flinch.  In fact, she embraced my vision with both arms.  She just *got* me.  I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling yet!

The location was perfect, the temperature was amazing and I had a family who was up for anything!  A photographer’s dream!  So this is going to be a picture overload!

Thanks again guys!  I enjoyed every minute of our afternoon together.

And seriously, can you be any more beautiful?

I could look at this one all day

Just look at this spunky little thing!

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather the last while and battling some awful headaches.  Last night I had to have a little lie down and who should appear but my most adorable, loving and caring 4 year old, bearing the most amazing card.   How could I not feel better after getting this???

I was given strict instructions to read it again if I felt bad….I think I will be reading it no matter how I feel!!  How is she growing up so fast?  How is she writing me notes and reading ME books??

I travelled to Greely a few days ago to photograph Mr. G on the occassion of his first birthday!  Already crusing and taking a few steps, G had me chasing him down – but what fun!  New found mobility has to be the biggest perk of this age.

We had to work hard for smiles – and don’t worry, we got some mom – but this might be my favourite of the day.  If you follow the blog, you know I’m drawn to black and white images.  They just seem to say so much more to me.

But the rest are just as fun – Here I am on the chase!

Thanks again A&J – what a wonderful little boy you have!

After a session is wrapped, images have been editted and the proof gallery has been put online, inevitably one of the first questions my clients ask me is how will I ever choose?  This is always a difficult task – especially when the portrait is of your loved one, the apple of your eye!

Usually there are clear favourites and these are the images that are often bought as a canvas or as a large print that will find a wonderful spot hanging in your home.  But then there are those other images, ones that you love and have to have, but aren’t necessarily going to be hung up on a wall.

Where do you put these prints??

I myself know that I am guilty of putting them aside, maybe in a drawer, and loosing track of them over time.  In fact, just the other day I found some of the beautiful prints from my own maternity session, with the talented Petra King, that were taken in March 2009 – almost a YEAR ago!

So when choosing your prints, why not consider buying them in an album from your photographer??  This is the perfect why to keep your prints safe AND to take them down from a shelf every once in awhile and ENJOY them!  And as a boutique photographer, this is what I love….to go along with my popular leather albums, I am now offering new albums to my clients!

This stunning brocade album comes in plum or light grey and is enclosed in a beautiful presentation box.  It truly is a wonderful way to display your precious memories and to share them with your friends and family.  No more having to fish them out of a drawer!

Well, I am a little biased!  But come on!!  Her smile is just so contagious that I had to share!

Our littlest keeps growing and oh how I wish we could slow things down.  I LOVE having a baby in the house and with each passing day, she grows a little more.  Now at 8 months she already has 2 teeth.  *sniff*  another milestone reached.  But I know that there are many more to come for a long time and that keeps me happy!

Sorry about the picture overload – I just couldn’t narrow it down!

And after mommy was done with our little mini-session, the model requested her very important *sookie* back.

This little guy made it to the New Year’s Eve Party just in the nick of time!  With only a few hours to spare, hansome Mr. R is officially my last newborn of 2009.  And what a great birthday to have -there is sure to be a party every year!

I spent a wonderful afternoon with T&J and baby R in their home in Toronto.  It was great fun for me as J and I went to high school together – although a few years apart.  I always enjoy seeing old friends become parents.  On one had it makes me feel old, but on the other, it reminds me how far we have all come.  At just 6 days old, R has made T&J parents and it is a role that clearly suits them well.

This session was a gift to them from some of their close friends and I truly hope it is something they will treasure for many years to come.

As I mentioned before, I was convinced there was something in the water 9 months ago!  It seems like I’ve been photographing newborns every other day!  Then someone pointed out to me – 9 months ago = Valentines.  Ah! That would explain a few things!  So continuing with that math – Valentine’s Day 2008 = NEWBORNS!!

Next up, Baby A.  Remember her amazingly prepared mom?  She now has her little girl to hold and love.

And not to be left out – Proud Papa!

Thank you again C&G.  I wish you nothing but the best as you travel into the world of parenthood.
